Happy Independance Day – Celebrate With a Little History!
I’ve published Episode 2 of Baker Company, a couple of days early again to make sure it’s up for sale on July 4th as promised (except at Apple but I can’t help that). Part one made the top 100 and Hot New Release lists on Amazon, peaking as high as number 4 in Men’s Fiction. Very exciting! If you purchased a copy, thank you! No go get Episode 2 for only 99 cents at your favorite retailer and read a little history on the 4th!
I’ve been remiss in posting otherwise. Haven’t had much to post about. What with the weather last week and the heat this week, not to mention the crowds that are appearing all around for the 4th, I’ve been waiting. I always have such big plans for summer with my boys. Fishing trips, movies, shooting, whatever. But they are getting older. My oldest, Henry, went to a leadership camp, was home for a week then went off with friends and will be working for my brother-in-law during the week of the fourth. My youngest, Owen, isn’t gone so often.
But on the 13th, they both head off to camp for a week to work as counselors then a week after they get back, we all head off on our summer vacation. Less than a week after we get home, football practice starts. This is my oldest son’s senior year and then if he holds true to his plans, he’ll head off the the Marines. Where does the time go? Then again, he’s gone so often now it’s like he’s already gone.
Oh, sorry. This was supposed to be a post bitching about the weather and the holiday crowds. I’ve got a few weeks I can shoehorn some fishing with them into between now and when school starts. The crowds will wane slightly after the 4th. The weather is much cooler up in the high country. For now, I’m staying in the air-conditioning and avoiding the people. So, happy Independence Day. Hope it’s a good one, spent with friends and family.
